One more...Neutral is not supposed to carry any current or
voltage.
Earth wire will carry current, voltage in case of short
circuit.

Earth is a search current for dissipation
Neutral is the reference point for current also the return
path for current

NEUTRAL is a return path of current in single phase loads.
However in a balanced three phase loads NEUTRAL will not
carry any current. In case of unbalanced three phase load
conditions NEUTRAL will carry algebraic sum of all three
phase currents.
EARTH wire is connected to a metallic body (non-live) parts
of a machine. In case of insulation failure EARTH wire will
act as a return path, to protect humans from electric shock.
For better protection, resistance of EARTH wire is
maintained below 5 ohms.

Earthing is always a zero voltage plane ,whereon the neutral
is at a ground zero potential or it can be some non zero
potential.
