A ring main can be defined as an electrical supply serving a series of consumers that returns to the original source, so that each consumer has an alternative path in the event of a failure. It's also an arrangement of pipes forming a closed loop into which water, steam or sewage may be fed and whose points of draw-off are supplied by flow from two directions.

Ring main unit is to be used in CSS(11kva or 33kva) or PSS. it consists of three circuit breakers either it is vcb or depends upon design.it has a three ways one is for incoming remain two for outgoing.in this the connection of incoming and outgoing based upon the CT ratio.for selecting of CT'S is depends upon knee point voltage.

what is the use of providing earthing for tanks? i know for lightning we use earthing ? Here one of my ONGC project there is no need of lightning protection and there is no power connection near by tank in that situation also ONGC asking earthing for tanks but we didn't understanding why they asking earthing? is anybody tell exact answer?

We have .ht motor which is 60Hz.we run on 50Hz.so that it's speed reduce but we had one prob.that motor winding temp increase up to 135 deg.we want reduce this temp.what to do?we arrange ext.cooling fan but not much effect.we want reduce this temp.
