RING MAIN UNIT IS A 11 KV OR 33 KV HT PANEL HAVING 3
BREAKERS THAT IS 2 FOR INCOMING ONE FOR OUT GOING. IT
ENABLES CONSUMER USE 2 SOURCES OF HT POWER IN A THE SAME
METERING POINT i. e RMU.

If there are two nos of ht power we have used to ring main
unit panel. In case of power failer from one source we can
take power from another source at the same point.

RMU is a panel generally forms ring system in which distributor is supplied from more than 1 feeders as input to RMU so that in case of failure from any one feeder ,power can be fed uninterruptedly from another feeders at the same point.
Now a days it is of SF6 gas insulated type.

RING MAIN UNIT IS TO BE USED TWO INCOMMING AND ONE OUT GOING GENERALLY BUT SOME TIMES ONE INCOMMING AND TWO OUT GOINGS MEDIUM VOLTAGE SUPPLIES.IN ENGINEERING DISTRIBUTION THIS IS CALLED FLEXIBLE POWER SUPPLY.NO A DAY SF6 CIRCUIT BREAKERS GOING TO BE USED.THESE ARE MAINTENANCE FREE BREAKERS.REMEMBER THAT SOLID WITH EPOXY RESIN CAST ALSO USED THOSE ARE NOT LATEST BUT ARE COMPATIBLE TO INTERNAL STANDARDS.

When we change the tap position of 10MVA transformer it suddenly tripped with Out of step indication and also with Static differential relay indication, Transformer Bucholz relay indn and Low oil level indication. Before 1 week the same problem occured by changing the tap position. but at that time only oltc bucholz relay activated. After testing the TxR Relay team & PET team cant find any solid reason. The values are ok also. So plz answer wat's the reason for this incident? anybody plz help.

I have a current transformer with 1 main reading meter with transformer outside the building and a control panel having 5 CT reading meters with black round coils inside the building. I want to know, A) when current pass through the Transformers, will the current be reduced or be the same and after that B) when current pass through the CT meters with black round coils, will the current be reduced or be the same. C) in the above process will the reading of the main meter be same or different, from the total reading of all the 5 CT meters.
