Coping in civil engg. constuction is the part of
structure/Masonarywall which is constructed on top of
Wingwalls,Returnwalls,Boundary walls etc to protect the
masonary aswell to drain off the rain water&improves
aesthtics of the structure/wall.

coping is a top member of the parapet wall it provide
neccessary slope 1:20 during rainy season water should drip
on the top to flow inside of the terrace and also do some
groove provide below coping .it should be provide lean
concrete and also reinforcement is needed
it should mainly take care of crack in the parapet wall
provide shear key also in the parapet wall
