Rigid pavement is peferable in extensive rainfall area,
however the initial investment is more. A techno-economic
study is required considering life of pavement, initial
cost, maintainance cost and driving comfort before selecting
wheather it should be the flexible pavement or rigid
pavement. The behaviour of rigid pavement against
earthquake particularly Zone-IV & V also has to be studided
while selecting rigid pavement.
