I heard Thump rule about beam depth is 1" per 1' length. Is

no it is to calculated like
100mm depth per 1m span ..when the total depth(D) is not
given.
after you get the total depth(D)
then calculate effective depth(d)
d = D-(cover of the beam +radii of the rod)
assume cover = 20-25mm
dia of the rod 16-20mm
