SAP XI 3.0(Exchange Integration) is the older version of SAP PI.
SAP PI (Process Integration) has latest version as 7.1 which
has new feature.
After SAP XI 3.0, SAP came with SAP PI7.0 and SAP PI 7.1.

up to 3.0 version they were calling it as Exchange
Infrastructure. After that by adding the BPMs(extra
features) to the 7.0 version they r calling it as Process
Integration.
