Hi Gurus,
Your answers are absolutely correct in some
situations. But i need to add some points.
1) First of all find out this is a problem to a single user
/no of users / or for all the users.
2 ) if this is a single user problem most probably this is
happening because of wrong log on pad settings or
VPN/Network problem or rarely it is because of dialog work
process are not available. So please act accordingly.
3)If this is a problem for multiple users
Please check these users are setup with a logon group, if it
is yes please check the specific application servers weather
up or not , and for available dialog work process and also
please check the connectivity of the application servers
with R3trans -d and also the communication between CI and
and that specific application servers.
2) if all the users are not able to logon.
Please check the system status if every thing looks ok and
some of users are not able to logon defintly we need to add
more dialog work processes , but as the business is live we
can not do this in business hours .So you can temporarily
adjust Operation modes to avail more dialog processes. an
please change rdsip/wp_no_dia for some of application
servers to add more more dialog work process according to
your hard ware resource and a planned restart need for this
change as this is a static parameter. You can add a new
dialog instance also. Please revert back if you have any
doubts on this

if you can not login to the dialog server, assuming you are
the only one who is unable to login
1st check with your own front end Gui configuration.
or the network connection from the frontend.
if in case you found no problem in your end, then might be
all dia wp will be busy.

Depend upon situation it needs to be diagnosed. check our
network, check if you could to server via ping. then if this
is fine check system no and sid where you are trying to get
into. Now if you get login screen but you did nt get welcome
screen then it need to look by server side, which need
deeper inspection in SAP and database. First is to check out
space on file systems and then continue to use other os
level tool to diagnose the problem

There can be two possibilites:
1. usr\sap filesystem is 100% full,in this case increase
the filesystem from OS level.
2. none of the Dialog work process is free,in this case
first inspect thru dpmon command and restart central
instance.
