Try to get the MODBUS communication details,address &
parameters which are all can able to read from the ER300P
meter from your supplier or direct from L&T.
With those inputs we can do anything

there are so many softwares available on the net such as modscan, simplymodbus by which u can communicate. rs485 port uses the modbus rtu mode of communication in L&T er300p.with these softwares u can get the values like voltages, current, pf, frequency etc that are stored in the holding register of the meter. to communicate with the energy meter u hav to prepare a query with the required function code.

hey anis..
i wud b happy to help you.. but i jus remembered dat power consumption s nt available at d holdinding regisers of the meter. in my projct, i had to only acquire d pawer which i calculatd from the V, I n power factor dat will be updated in d register n d query i talked abt is used to write to dose registers.. so.. i dunno if my query wud help you..
y dnt u access d data to d pc n dn develop a software werin u can do d calculations recquired? i can try helping if dats d case.. coz v used vb.net to develop a software wer v tuk dese voltage n all n den calculated der..

I'm using this meter to study the power utilization for
several load settings in a complex theromchemical
plant.....At the begning of every measurment I want to
round off the start point of the power consumption reading
to 4 digits (ex:xxxx0000)....so that I can apply my algo on
the readings which I get at the end of my measurement.

Does any one of you know how to do it?

u can write in the meter using write code using modbus. jus chek the location of the power using modscan or sum silmple software n then u can write in dat location with a loop or sumtng at ur will..

Thank you very much George.
As I know from ER300P manual....we have a programing
password with which I can change some settings of the meter
like CT\PT ratio and RTC etc...So can I use the same
programing password to write to the location of current
power consumption?
