Transformer properties are governed by the 2 Indian
Standards.1) IS 335 & 2)IS :1866
IS 335 is for new oil
IS 1866 is for oil in service
For the transformer in service as long as oil in
transformer is ok as per IS 1866 there is no requirment as
such for filteration of oil, but you have to follow the
manufactuer's instructions regarding this

Yes; at least once in a year it should be filtered and
tested as per IS 1866-2000 to withstand not only BDV,
moisture but all the 9 test parameters; as at least we
should know what has happened in terms of oil
characteristics within a year.
