Mr. Virendra this formula is applicable for busbar only
not for cables . as per your statment 10 sq mm cu cable
suitable for 16 A only . PLEASE GO AND CHECK with cable
manufacture catalouge. the 10 sq mm Al cable suitable for
+_ 40A .

As per standards for Aluminium cable 1sq.mm can carry 1A.
and in case of Copper cable 1 sq.mm can carry 4A.

If theres any formula to calculate please do let me know as
well....

As per standred there is no formula, its only depend on
cable manufacture cataloge and we following same as what
amarnath said AL cable current carrying 1A per SQMM and
copper cable carring 4A per SQMM.

Dear all please consider the length of the cable and voltage droup. Depends on the size the resistance value should be varies. For 3 phase 3.2% valtage droup allowed and 1 phase system 2.5% valtage droup alowed. before going to select the cable size to consider these all.

said Aluminus takes 1A per sq.mm but for Copper it is 1.6 /
sq.mm

We have one Energy meter for Measuring the voltage,current,power,energy(KWH,KVARH,KVAH) & power factor.The problem is that the meter does not show whether the PF is lagging or leading.So i want to know that is there any way or calculation to find out that whether the PF sign (lagging or leading) depending upon the above mentioned parameters?
