diffrential relay used in generator for sense the winding
fualt

That works on difference of two current thats why known as
diffrential relay for example two cts one on generator
phase ct and other r on neutral side both cts passing for
example 5amps but the direction of current iz opposite so
the resultant iz zero that senses the relay if there is any
fault in the generator so the current increase on fault
side and the dirrence current increase and relay trip the
CB that iz the protection of generator transformer winding

the diffrential relay used in which position when proctect
the specfice jone like feeder ,tranfromer ,bus bar,has a not
fluctuate the voltage .but generator has a variable load so
voltage are up and down so dose not use the this relay.
