pt 100 is instrument for detecting temperature and it is
resistance temperature detector ( R.T.D) detects resistance
of platinumused in it. range is about -200 to around 800*C.

Answer / rajkumar
PT-100 is normally used in RTD, its a temperature sensing
element, basically called as platinum 100, for positive
temperature co-efficient,if temperature increases
resistance also increases, the increase of resistance is
due to the applide voltage passing through the sensing
element, it has resistance, for 0 degree celcius 100 ohms.
