dc transformer is nothing but of dc chopper.chopper works
as dc transformer.it can be used for step up &step down of
dc voltage.

Answer / sanjeev kumar
transformer works on the principle of mutual induction and
it is immpossible to produce varing flux by dc. hence dc
transformer does not exist.

Bull-Shit!! What DC Transformer????
There is no such thing in the world....
Transformer is a thing which works on a principle of Mutual
Induction which requires Frequency.
In DC power there is no frequency at all,
so, where is the matter of DC Transformer?

if connect dc supply to a transformer temperature will be
increased and it gets damaged

T/f works based on mutual induction.so if we r
give dc to that it will burn (after saturation) due
to no oposition(eb=0). Although it act like normal t/
f at starting instant. So bye using t/f we can
change ac voltage w.r.t currunt. To change dc
voltage we can use choppers.

You must be refering to a dc converter whereby a dc voltage
is stepped from one level to another.
I believe the poster is thinking of transformer in an ac
circuit and compare it to the device that does the same in
the dc circuits. I must say I haven't heared of a dc
transformer though. It must be wrong terminology.

Dc transformer is possible to construct but you need
additional circuit for it to work. you need a high speed
switching component for the dc to form into a AC look alike
voltage. then since the dc voltage becomes like an ac it can
create a induced voltage on the secondary winding of a dc
transformer.

transformer is a static device that works with the principle of induction. since induction an ac phenomenen, transformer can not be dc.

some practicle study shows that the reactive power at the receiving end is not equal to the reactive power at the sending end.But according to theory the reactive power is exchanged by different parts of the network – capacitors and reactors permanently, but is never consumed or produced. Then Where that reacrtive power loss occuring?is there any formula to calculate reactive power loss?
