WHY WE ARE EXPRESSING KW-HR AS UNIT OF
ELECTRICITY.........?WE CAN EXPRESS IN ANOTHER UNIT.....?

Answer / rishit
Sorry to say but KW-HR is not a unit of electricity
it is the unit by which electricity department charges our
bill the reason after that is if we put a load of 1 kw on
meter then it takes one hour to change its one reading after
one hour
remember i am asking to put only load of one KW not more
than that and after one hour only 1 KW reading will increase
that is why it is KW per Hour

If you want to represent bulk power, you can use a bigger
unit like Megawatt hour or Gegawatt hour. (1 MWH = 1000
KWH; 1 GWH = 1000MWH).

Answer / anil bhatia
the energy meter which measure unit is desine to calculate
kwh . ie 1000 X wattes x Hrs (time consumed or used the
power).
where watts is volts X current .
voltage= is applied/given volts,
current=Amper taken by load

Rishit's answer is also correct,
and also the another one is load is not constant for a
minute in our normal life i.e if we measure power at
12noon,that load will not be same at 12:30 pm.
So on an average the load is calculated on hourly basis for
the purpose of finding the efficiency for all day.,and also
the power consumed domestically.

What is the difference between reverse power trip & inadvertant trip?
if power factor comes in leading & showing -0.95. Is there any effect on electrical system? if yes, then please tell me what would be the effects. & how long we keep power factor in leading. Keeping power factor in leading shows more KW & less KVA is it correct or not.

In a circuit the power factor was leading what will happen?
WHY AREWE USING THE 3 1/2 CORE CABLES IN POWER TRANSMISSION
1 Answers Phoenix Technologies,
Our Alternator nameplate specifies a power factor of 0.8. When the Alternator is on light load, the bus bar voltage rises to 11240 volts, whereas the standard value is 10500 volts. Is it ok to increase the power factor to 0.85 or 0.9. I am afraid because the power factor on the name plate is only 0.8 ?
difference b/w bus bar and tie line?if possible explain with eg:
