if the unbalance load exist in the system in that case some voltage is developed at the neutral point beacuse the current at the neutral point is zero( in case of 3-phase system) if neutral is not earthed, the magnitude of the voltage developed at the neutral depend upon the unbalance load it might be produced in order of KV

Floating Neutral is a condition when neutral is not
grounded the case may be when single phase Cable say 66 KV
having lead sheath is not grounded at either side as a
consequence the Neutal end point (sheath ) develops some
potentail say 50 Volts under normal condition and in case
of fault due to transformer effct between sheath and
conductor the voltage of unearthed(floating end) end gets
abnormally high so a Lighting arrestor /surge arrestor is
used at floating end

I Thing this type of floating neutral system used in
aeropline,Further Neutral of the Flight wire will be
connect with flight body. Because There is no return path
to this current. It means the Return path current will be
neutralized with air atmosphere.(Dear Friends If its wrong
