Data Consistency means each user sees a consistent view of
the data including changes made by the user own
transcations & others transcations.

Whenever data is referred from some master data, or transactional data, it should not leave system in inconsistent state. For eg. in a movement type setup, you set date as mandatory field in the posting screen whereas in accounting setup, you set the same field as non mandatory then at the time of posting a transaction which involves movement type and account determination, system won't be able to determine if the date has to be shown or should be hidden in the posting screen.
