what is the function of a starter in a motor? explain RLC circuit...

Answer / ponvel

stater is used to protect the motor from overload . if the
starter is 3ph to avoid single phasing and it is used to
redude the startinting current.

what is the function of a starter in a motor? explain RLC circuit...

Answer / nimish

The function of starter is to reduce the starting current
by inserting initially high resistance. In RLC series
circuit Resistance, inductance and capacitance are
connected in series. If XL is greater than XC then power
factor of circuit is Lagging and if XL is less than XC
power factor is leading. and if XL=Xc then power factor is
unity and this condition is known as resonance.

what is the function of a starter in a motor? explain RLC circuit...

Answer / ashokreddy r

Function of starter is to limit the starting current and
make the motor start in a desired and safe way.
For dc motor we can go for resistance starters(3-point,4-
point)
For 3phase induction motors we can go for
DOL STARTING ,STAR DELTA STARTING,RESISTANCE STARTING,AUTO
T\F STARTING.

what is the function of a starter in a motor? explain RLC circuit...

Answer / raj kamal

starter are generally use to reduce the high initial
current to the safer limit. when we start motor, starting
current is usually 6-8 times the full load current. To
reduce this initial rush of current starters are used.
there are various types of starters are as under:
1. DOL STARTER
2. STAR DELTA STARTER
3. REHOSTAT STARTER
4. AUTO TRANSFORMER STARTER

what is the function of a starter in a motor? explain RLC circuit...

Answer / sk abrahim ali

1.To limit the starting current.
2. To protect the motor from taking overload current,
3.To protect the motor against supply failure,
4.To facilitate the starting and stopping of the motor.

what is the function of a starter in a motor? explain RLC circuit...

Answer / sabale.dnyaneshwar@gmail.com

The function of starter is to reduce the starting current
which is generally 6 to 7 times of flc. but it is not
reducing the current by inserting resistance. eg. in DOL
starter there is no addition of resistance & it also not
protect the motor from high current. but other starter
i.e star-delta starter. we are reducing the current by
using star connection at the starting.
so, u go in details with starter then u know the each
starter is having diff. operation.
conclusion, by applying various method with starter we are
reducing only starting current.

what is the function of a starter in a motor? explain RLC circuit...

Answer / ibekwe solomon

A starter is basically used to reduce starting line current
when ever a motor is swicthed on in other to prevent the
coil from burning out because the starting line current is
usually 6times greater than the rated current for motor.

what is the function of a starter in a motor? explain RLC circuit...

Answer / pratap khamari

a starter is a device generally used to reduce the high
initial current to the safe limit.when we start motors high
initial current to be flow through motors which effect to
others load connected that supply because the initial
current is 6-8 percent of full load current.to reduce the
initial current starters are used except DOL starter. There
are verious type of starter
1.DOL STARTER
2.STAR DELTA STARTER
3.RHEOSTAT STARTER
4.AUTO TRANSFORMER STARTER
