Answer / manish meena
transformer parts are:-
1)BUCHHOLZ RELAY: it is avery sensitive gas and oil
operated instrument which safely detect the formation of
gas or sudden prssure inside the oil transformer.
2)CONSERVATOR: it is used to provide adequate space for the
expansion of oil when transformer is loaded or when ambient
temprature changes.
3)SILICA GEL BREATHER: it sucks the moisture from the air
which is taken by transformer so that dry air is taken by
transformer.
4)DOUBLE DIAPHRAGM EXPLOSION VENT: it is used to discharge
excess presure in the atmospher when excess pressure is
developed inside the transformer during loading.
5)OIL LEVEL INDICATOR: it is used to show the oil level in
the transformer.
6)winding temprature indicator: used to show the
temprature of transformer winding.
7)RADIATORS: these are used for cooling of the transformer
oil.

Answer / saravanakumar
primary winding, secondary winding and transformer core are
all the main parts of the transformer.
the supply voltage is connected to the primary
winding, the load is connected to the secondary winding and
in the transformer core only the magnetic flux path will b
established..
in power transformers(used for transmit the heavy
voltages to the grid) on load tap changers used.. but in
distribution transformers off circuit tap changers are
used.
there is another type of transformers called auto
transformers in which part of the primary winding used as a
secondary winding.
buccholz relay s used for the transformer protection.

1) CONSERVATOR - conservator is a type of tank , used to
help oil filling this is situated upper portion of the
power transformer . mainly these are cylindrically
shapped...
2) TANK - basically this is a container used to keep
windings(both) and cooling oil.
3) BUTCHHOLZ RELAY - this is a protecting device used to
protect our transformer windings . this is a double ended
device one end is conneced to conservator other is
connected to tank. there are two windings inside the relay
one for detecting oil level goin to empty and other is
connected to a alarm circuit for warning
4) BREATHER - Breather is a device used for absorb the
moisture content of a oil and sucked air
5) SILICA JEL - it is a chemichal matarial these are the
only one main component inside the breather basically
silica jel is a brown coloured one after the absorbtion
silica jel become pink
6) OIL LEVEL SCALE - this is a ordinary part situated on
the side of the conservator for proper oil checking oil
tank wants a specific amout of oil
7) PRIMARY WINDING - in the case of power transmission
primary windings are the main element external connection
from the power is connected to thi winding
8) SECONDARY WINDING - this is a another windin for
redusing power(in the case of step down purpos)
9) DRAIN VALVE - this valve is used for taking damaged
oil from the oil tank for the proper oil collection this
valve is situated under the oil tank
10) PORCELIN BUSH - This is a outer unit , this is used to
prevent unwanted leackage of electricity
11) RADIATOR - This device is used to cooling oil

The main parts of the transformer are as under :
1. Oil Tank:
This part of the xmer contains the assembly of the core and
the winding which is immersed in insulation oil.
2. Radiator :
This part is basically used for the cooling of Xmer by the
means of natural air.
3. Conservater:
This is mainly used for the storage of extra insulation oil
which is to overcome the requirement of the tank assembly
system.
4. Air breather:
This is used for the extraction of the moisture from the
core of the transformers.
5. Temperature meter (O.T/W.T):
These are used for taking the readings of O.T.I - Oil
Temperature Indicator and W.T.I - Winding Temperature
Indicator.
6. Drain Valve:
This is used for the Exhaust of the insulation oil during
the maintainance of the Xmer.
7. Tap-changer:
This is used for the tapping of the Xmer at different
levels.
8. Pressure release Valve (P.R.V):
This is used for the tripping purpose in the Xmers for the
safety purpose.
9.Buchloz Relay:
This is used for the tripping purpose by the help air gap
inbetween the switching circuit.
10. Primary and secondary winding:
These are the two coils of the Xmer and the no. of turns
depend upon the rating of the transformer.

Answer / gunasekaran
1.primary winding
2.secondary winding
3.core
primary is connected to source
secondary is connected to load
core is used for magneti path as well as reduce the no load
current if there is no core the no load current is more
than 10-15% of full load current. how it is we r giving the
supply to primary wdg it produce magnetic field this
magnetic field is oppose the cause this magnetic field
produce back emf. as per lenz law that is why trnsformer is
taking no load current only upto 1to2% of full load
current.
