WHAT ARE THE FACTORS REQUIRED FOR SELECTION OF TRANSFORMER
RATING?

Answer / kannan.sj
first u should know
1,The connected load of transformer or load factor
2,Highest connected load / motor in the transformer and its
starting type
3, diversity factor
because
KVA demand at 0.8 p.f =connected load x LF x DF
-------------
efficiency X p.f
starting current of highest KW load takes 6 times of full
load current. so we to check it whether the transformer has
the capability to feed the load or not during starting. its
the important thing while considering trafo selection..

Answer / ahfaz
1] we have to know the KVA load required
2] we have to know the percentage of impedance in the winding
3] Indoor or Outdoor
4] Type of cooling
5] Maximum temperature required

Answer / mohammed hussain a
Load Current,Load Voltage and Load Power factor(Secondary
Side). It may 3 Phase or 1Phase.
For 3phase Power in KVA = 1.732*V*I/0.8*1000
For 1 Phase in KVA = V*I/1000.
The rating of the transformer can be identified from the
above formula.

calculate all connected load like lighting load power load
motors ahu etc, calculate the 3 phase current and multiply
it with 1.25%
we will get the transformer size
Is This Answer Correct ? | 1 Yes | 1 No |
Answer / manasa
First we have to know about the load consumption, then
diversity factor that is demand in KW and then in KVA

in a delta-star with neutral grounding on star side what will happen if one star limb got opened at star point
why we ground the scondary of current transformer.
avr is an automayic voltage regulator ... it regulates voltage before it synchronise with grid after synchronisation it regulates power factor why....
What are the difference between these terms ? e.m.f, voltage, potential, potential difference, current etc? what are the difference between these terms ? (electromotive force) e.m.f, voltage, potential, potential difference, reference potential, reference potential difference, current. How can i explain and describe these all terms in single line each and little more explaination too thanks

we have 400kv/6.6kv transformer ,it has total 9 taps on HV side with normal tap on tap no 5.when we took the ratio test we observed that ratio was decreasing from tap 1 to tap 5 and was found increasing from tap 5 to tap 9.What is the reason?if anyone have related document then please send me on the email id ankushbahale@gmail.com......plz plz
