ON WHAT BASIS LOADS ARE CLASSIFIED AS RESISTIVE,INDUCTIVE
AND CAPACITIVE LOADS?.GIVE PRACTICAL EXAMPLES FOR EACH
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
on basis current & voltage they are classified. for
resistive load current in phase with voltage, for inductive
load current lags voltage by 90deg & for capacitive load
current leads the voltage by 90deg..ok

they r classified based on the response of the element to
alternating voltages or currents(e.g inductor will oppose
the change in current so it allows voltage first and then
after 90 degrees it allows current to pass thro it
resistive loads- heaters, owens
inductive loads -induction motors
capacitive loads-synchronous condensors,capacitor banks

see
resistance , inductance eand capacitance is the network
resistive current is in phase with voltage
inductive current is 90 degrree lag with phase voltage
capacitve current is 90 degrree lead with phase volage
if load is inductive more than capacitve , ur power factor
will be lag around o.5 percent then ur loss become maximum
and ur efficiency will reduce , so we need compansate the
KVAR , and connect the shunt capacitor for pf improvement
in capacitve load , more than inductive , transformer give
negative voltage regulation then it not give constant
voltage
that means u have to balnce the three loads ,resistance ,
inductive , capacitve

ON WHAT BASIS LOADS ARE CLASSIFIED AS RESISTIVE,INDUCTIVE
AND CAPACITIVE LOADS?
answer :
resistive loads means any loads those show no phase difference between current and voltage. its power factor is 1.
EXAMPLEs are light bulbs, heaters.etc
Induction Loads show phase difference between currents and voltages. here current lags the voltage by 90 degree. power factor is negative.
examples are FAN, induction motors, fluorescent lights. etc
Capacitive loads show phase defference but here currents lead the voltages by 90 degree. here power factor of capative load is positive.
examples are synchronous motors, capacitor banks. [capacitor load's number is very few. ]
