in direct update we do not have the update rules only transfer rules are available and its used to update master data ..where as flexible update can be used to update both master data n transnational data except hierarchies

Direct upload means each time the entire data is loaded.
For example
a) The records from 1-100 is uploaded first.
b) Then 50 records added and now you want to upload using
direct upload now also the 1-100 and 50 totally 150 records
added, now totally it contains 250 records.
