Accounts in Sales process means, different type of
customer/ Partners set. Like in General business process we
use to say Retail customer(Retail Account) , Government
Customer (Govt.Account) Defence Customer (Defence Customer,
Company Employee ( Iternal Account).

Account Group(OBD2) Provides us special feature in SAP to
treat different Partners differently.

It has following charecterstics

1.Field Selection
2.Number range assignment (internal or external)
3.Making field required or optional entry
4.One time customer

Hi,

Most of the fields in the customer master are controlled
using Field Selection, which is inturn a function of
Account Group.

Hence we can say that Account Group is like a control
parameter for the customer master.

Account group is responsible to capture the field control in
master data ,which fields are
mannual/mandatory/optional/supress , wether output has to
determine and is he one time customer are not and how the
master record should be maintained as internal no range or
external no range(ovt0) etc..

Accound group can be controls customer because through
accound group can be findout customer transtion and
customer behaviuor. So accound group play key role to
manage customer

The business data of the customer is controled through
account group which in turn controls the pertnr functions
as in partner proccedure the account group is associated to
the patner functions . So based on you account group you
can specify your partner functions and partner proccedure

hi gurus, I have faced one issue related to variant configuration, i.e. syntax error in simple action/procedure is like characteristic cycle price was created with character format. here in that taken as table name: SDCOM , field name: VKNOD. as $self.SCDOM_VKNOD='withgear'. please can u post the solution.
