The Relational Model is based on five principles:n1. Set Theory: Data is represented as sets and relations.n2. Extended Stanford Relations Model (SRT): Each relation consists of a set of tuples, attributes, and a domain for each attribute.n3. Atomicity: Each attribute value cannot be divided further.n4. Integrity: Ensures data consistency by enforcing rules such as primary key, foreign key, and referential integrity.n5. Hierarchical Model Extension: Allows for one-to-many relationships between relations.
