The link between SD and MM :-

1. When you create sales order in SD, all the details of
the items are copied from Material master of MM.

2. MRP and availibility check related data is also taken
from MM although you control this data in SD also.

3. While you create inbound/outbound delivery with
reference to a sales order,the shipping point determination
takes place with the help of the loading group, plant data,
shipping conditions etc. This also refers to Material
Master.

4. The material which you are entering in a sales order
must be extended to the sales area of your sales
order/customer otherwise you cannot transact with this
material.

There are many such links between SD and MM.

First point - When the order is created & material entered,
the first thing the system does is check if stock is
available.

Second Point - When goods issue is done the stock is
reduced.

These are the primary integration points of SD & MM

Third party orders and STO are the link between SD and MM
While creating the sales order for third party,purchase req
are autmatically generated which are the part of MM.
This configuration is done in Schedule Line.

between plant and depots.

for finished and miscellaneous products belonging to various

4.Inventory management is part of material management is
completely integrated in the entire logistics system. For
example ,on entering a sales order , a dynamic availability
check can be initiated of stock on hand .
5. When a delivery is created ,the quantity to be delivered
is marked as "scheduled for delivery ".It is deducted from
the total stock when the goods issue is posted .
6.It is also possible to create sales order stocks in case
of made-to-order production where the stock is produced
against a specific sales order .

For retro active billing, is there any configuration to be done apart from the Pricing Procedure(with Rebate cond types)? Say suppose if i have some 1000 documents, does i get 1000credit or debit memos or is there any solution for wre i shud not get credit or debit memo.(bcoz VFRB gives us ony credit or debit) Plz do give some of ur inputs.
