Which concrete grade and cement/water ratio is the best?
Hello,
I am suppose to make the strongest 5cm by 5cm by 5cm cube for my civil engineering class. I was wondering which concrete gives the strongest concrete.
I have done some research and it seems that M40 grade concrete gives the strongest concretee but I am unsure about the ratio. I read on one of the posts on this website that the ratio is 1:1.62:2.96 but I do not know if this is true.
Also, which water to cement ratio would be the best? I have researched that 1:0.25 (cement:water) is the minimum but often times yields a very rough concrete that is hard to transfer. Most sources say 0.35-0.40 water is the best.
Thanks.
