Heavy leak
There is no way to maintain the required pressure so its better to stop the pump, otherwise power waste.
Light leak
If your pump running with VFD ( variable frequency device ) or scoop adjustments, then you can able to change your pump speed. If you increased means pressure and flow also increased at same time amps and power also increased.
