for 12mva at 0.8 pf mw= 0.8 x 12 mva
= 9.6
as per p.f.triangle mvar=square root of mw2+mva2
ie. square root of 9.6 x 9.6 + 12 x 12.
= square root of 92.16 + 144
=square root of 236.16
=16 mvar
