milli meter water column used to measure pressure
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 105 Yes | 11 No |
Answer / khushwant
mmWC = millimeter of water column.
The unit is used to measure pressure in low range.
It means that tank with a height of 10m filled with water.
then pressure in that tank will be 10000mmWC.
because density of water is 1.

MMWC MEANS MILLI METER OF WATER COLOUM,AND THIS A UNIT TO
MEASURE PRESSURE.
| Is This Answer Correct ? | 36 Yes | 2 No |
use to measure the pressure at very high accuracy.
Its used in deaerator and furnace pressure measurement.
Where the accuracy is required.
1 kgCM2 = 10000MMWC.

Answer / jagdish
pressure P = height*acc. due to gravity* density
density of water is unity. due to this a small pressure
change gives large displacement in water colum and thus we
get accurate reading. so used mmWC.
