Answer / abul hasan

In Heat Exchenger only heat trnsfer take place, where in
cooling tower both heat transfer as well as mass transfre
take place

what is the difference between the heat exchanger and cooling tower???????????..

Answer / rosh

THERE IS DIRECT CONTACT BETWEEN TWO FLUIDS IN COOLING TOWERS, BUT IN HEAT EXCHANGERS IT IS NOT NEEDED.

what is the difference between the heat exchanger and cooling tower???????????..

Answer / kirankumarrds

1.In cooling towers there is a direct contact b/w the fluids
is there, where as in HE it is not
2.In cooling towers both ht and mt takes place,ht is taking
place from upcoming vapors to falling fluid,mt is takes
place from falling fluid to vapor. In HE only ht is takes place

what is the difference between the heat exchanger and cooling tower???????????..

Answer / chetan gice

In colling tower both mt&ht takes place but in heat exchanger only ht takes place why because there is indirect contact between both where as cooling tower both are in direct contact

what is the difference between the heat exchanger and cooling tower???????????..

Answer / ss

both r wrking on the same principle only a bit differn is
cooling water tower evoporate the water up to th ewet bulb
temprtuer of atm air,i.e its depend on the atm air
condition, but in case of typical heat exchnger the heat
transfer is not depend on atm air wbt they only depen on the
two fluids amngs the heat transfer tkes place

Is This Answer Correct ?    7 Yes 2 No

what is the difference between the heat exchanger and cooling tower???????????..

Answer / diipk

basi difference of latent heat CT water gives latent heat to air but in HE latent heat taken from external source ie hot water/brine etc

Is This Answer Correct ?    6 Yes 2 No

what is the difference between the heat exchanger and cooling tower???????????..

Answer / govind murali

Cooling Tower is a kind of heat exchanger. The difference lies in the method of energy transfer. Cooling tower may also be considered as a Mass Transfer device because the cooling of water takes place because due to the evaporation of water caused by air. In a normal heat exchanger, only energy transfer takes place, but in a cooling tower both energy and mass transfer takes place.

what is the difference between the heat exchanger and cooling tower???????????..

Answer / kumar phanishwar

there are two types of heat exchangers based on the type of
interaction between fluid:
1. Direct Contact
2. Indirect Contact

Shell & Tube as well as plate type heat exchangers are
indirect contact heat exchangers as heat transfer is through
the surface separating two fluids.

Cooling tower in a direct contact heat exchanger.
In this type of heat exchanger fluids mix with each other
and transfer heat as well as mass.

what is the difference between the heat exchanger and cooling tower???????????..

Answer / shahbaz

In heat exchanger there is heat transfer from hot fluid to cold fluid and make steam and in colig tower heat is removed by faling hot water frm hight and it gets cold .

PROCESS DESIGN - EXAMPLE 21.2 : The names of the flow streams could be represented by : H1 for first hot stream, H2 for second hot stream, C1 for first cold stream, C2 for second cold stream. Data of supply temperature Ts in degree Celsius : 150 for H1, 170 for H2, 30 for C1, 30 for C2. Data of target temperature Tt in degree Celsius : 50 for H1, 169 for H2, 150 for C1, 40 for C2. Data of heat capacity Cp in kW / degree Celsius : 3 for H1, 360 for H2, 3 for C1, 30 for C2. (a) Find the enthalpy changes, dH for all streams of flow H1, H2, C1 and C2 in the unit of kW. Take note of the formula dH = (Cp) (Tt - Ts). (b) Match the hot streams H1 and H2 with the suitable cold streams C1 and C2 to achieve the maximum energy efficiency.
