relay is nothing but contactor(no, nc), for working (coil
energise) supply we can give according to their
specification, for contact (no,nc ) we can give ac r dc but
we can not give both supply

Answer / prashant kumar , tcl
generally relay defined accordingly to ac and dc powered for
its coil , means relay coil for ac or dc. but at the contact
(NO AND NC) We can use ac or dc because these are potential
free contact from relay.
for relay energizing we can use only one power ac or dc
accordingly to its specification.

relay is slightly differ by contactor. as contactor is used
wher power is more while relay is used on low power ckts
another thing is that the same relay can't use on both the
supply this is b'coz in dc only small resistance which is
coil having oppose the current wher in ac the opposition by
impedance thereby same relay can't use on botj type of
supply

relay is the device which is used to trip the contactor when the fault occurs.it has no and nc points.by using this points it will trip the circuit.the power supply is transmitted through nc point of realy to the coil of contacter. whenever the fault occurs the nc point of realy opens the circuit and trips the circuit

relay nothing but a electrical switch working on coil .when
supply is passed to relay energise break the connected
circuit.
