Dear ZAFAR when we talk about generator , due to leading power factor the end structure of generator will over heated and this over heating occur due to the leakage flux in core and set up eddy current.
in leading power factor operation the generator will be less stable because we are importing reactive power from the system
that's why we reliay on system, if there is a disturbance in the system our unit will also effected.so in this condition our reliability will be poor.

in leading power factor, every electrical equpment not
given 100 % efficienvy and its defect at log time in
equpment. and losses of voltag at consumer and ganretion
side also.
