If i have two 3000 kW motors and the whole facility requires
a 10 MVA transformer.
What would be better installing two 5 MVA transformers(one
for 1 motor ) or just a single 10 MVA transformer for both
of them.
Give reasons for your answer.

its better to use 10kva ,bcos the capacity should be 3 times
more than the motor

If we use 2 transformers that is better way because in case 1 transformer fails than second transformer comes into line and system does not face any shutdown condition. For system smooth operation that is better way

This is about the recent problem that we have faced in our project site. We have 6/7.5 MVA. 66/11kV three phase star - star power transformer. The neutral was solidly connected to the earthing mat. But because of high resistance of earthing mat (130 ohm on LV and 180 ohm on HV), one day LV side neutral earthing conductor melted and we had a huge damage. Can any one plz tell me what might happen when we connect power transformer neutral to the earthing mat which has high resistance (>100 ohm ) ?????
