Calibration is a tool to ensure that the instrument or equipment is working well & Validation is a tool to ensure that the analytical method is working well.

Validation mean documented evidence that a particular
instrument or process produce results meet predetermined
specification.
Calibration means particular instrument or device produce
results by comparison of known reference standard.

Validation in the pharmaceutical and medical device
industry is defined as the documented act of demonstrating
that a procedure, process, and activity will consistently
lead to the expected results.
Making measurements with any analytical method or
instrument requires calibration to ensure the accuracy of
the measurement. There are two common calibration
procedures: using a working curve, and the standard-
addition method. Both of these methods require one or more
standards of known composition to calibrate the
measurement.

Validation is a documented program that provides high degree of assurance that a specific process, equipment, method or system consistently produces a result meeting pre-determined acceptance criteria.Shall be performed as per validation protocol.
Calibration is a demonstration that, a particular Instrument or device produces results with in specified limits by comparisons with those produced by a reference or traceable standard over an appropriate range of measurements.Shall be performed as per calibration SOP.

Calibration is done by known device (standard)againt the
the unknown device, it means instrument are working
properly or not and can be adjusted within tolerance.
Validation is to ensure the method which is to be used for
its intended purpose or not.
