That is in case of 3 phase supply ,as only the unbalanced
current flows through the neutral

Answer / rama kranthi sri
it is because the neutral wire carries only the unbalanced
current. it doesnt carry the full load current. so, the
neutral wire is thinner when compared to phase wires in
three phase.

A 4-Pole D.C. Generator has a speed of 1500r.p.m. Then what will be the frequency of D.C. Generator ?
Why only mesh earthing is used in G.S.S.?
In directional earth fault protection for generator, one core balance CT is for residual current, what other CT is for, which is placed on neutral?
can we use 7volt DC BATTERY to run a 60watt motor by stepup? Give reason for your answer?
What are formula we can apply to determine the HT/LT current of 11KV/433V transformer except KVA/LV×√3. ?
We have 3 Gensets 1.500kva,2.380kva,3.250kva How can we connect in common busbar&we have variable load.
What is the need of earthing transformer for delta side of a transformer. (Think of a line section between a star/delta transformer at a grid substation and delta/star transformer at a village. An earthing transformer is there at the delta side of the star/delta transformer at grid substation). As there are no ground reference there will not be fault current if a one phase is grounded. Further L-L phase will be sensed by the primary side of star/delta transformer as a L-G fault. So why an earthing transformer is required at delta side
why need to be maintain power factor for industrial customer?
For a 6.6kV Motor it is recommended to do megger test with 500 V d.c and not more than 5kV d.c but the Hi voltage withstand test should be performed by 12kV AC. Why the dc voltage test should be limited but AC voltage withstand test could be with such a high voltage?
