Why only mesh earthing is used in G.S.S.?

In GSS there is high fault current flows to the earth so
that there may be a potental difference due to this at
ground..... so if a person stands at the surface of a
substation he can get shocked due to this potential
difference so by this mesh earthing the potential can be
spread out whole the substation surface and this surface
become equipotential.

Because of reducing resistance , other touch and step
voltage to be reduce, once fault happens then get maximum
ways to go into ground
