Answer / rajesh babu
we cant use dc power in transformers.AS the transformer
works on the principle of MUTUALLY INDUCTION and according
to this principle induction of emf(STATICALLY) occurs in one
coil due to change in current in another coil.THIS WILL
,ONLY POSSIBLE WITH ALTERNATING CURRENT.

Answer / susanta mallik
acording to faraday's law of electro magnetic induction emf
produce in a coil when the linkage flux changes.as we know
dc supply gives a constant flux where ac gives a sinusoidal
varying flux.so the transformer does not works on dc.one
point we have to remember hare that f=0 for dc.then
xL=0.hense the inductor acts as short circuit and causes low
impedance as well as high current to flow in the transformer
which may cause it to burn

yes we can use dc power in transformer but our arrangement should be such that we can vary power, coz transformer works on principle of inductance .means we should have a varying flux.

Yes .we can use DC power in case of transformer, but for that we need to apply high frequency DC voltage across windings that means there are high frequency on and off period for the applied voltage across winding. It should be on upto knee point of the B-H curve of the material . otherwise cord will saturate, and it will damage. And there flux eeseting option during off period.

basically, transformer consists of primary and secondary
windings of some turns.this winding can b compared vid an
inductor of some turns.so inductor vil allow dc to flow
through.if the input is closed ckt, current vil be flowing
which finally leads to core saturation.
