what is the difference between LT & HT Motors..

Answer / himmat

DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY OF SUPPLY VOLTAGE THE MOTORS CAN BE CLASSIFIED AS
FOLLOWS: -
1 AS PER AMERICAN/EUROPEAN PRACTICE: -
A) LT RANGE MOTORS – 230 VOLTS, 415 VOLTS
B) MEDIUM VOLTAGE RANG- 690 VOLTS TO 3300 VOLTS
C) HT RANGE MOTORS – 6600 VOLTS AND 11000 VOLTS.
2) AS PER INDIAN PRACTICE: -
LT RANGE MEANS 230 VOLTS, 415VOLTS AND 690 VOLTS
AND HT MEANS 3300, 6600 AND 11000 VOLTS RANGE.

Is This Answer Correct ?    80 Yes 16 No

what is the difference between LT & HT Motors..

Answer / siva krishna

LT Motor works below 415 volts
HT Motor works above 415 volts

Is This Answer Correct ?    66 Yes 32 No

what is the difference between LT & HT Motors..

Answer / prashanth

As per Indian Electrical Practice motor voltage level defines LT or HT

LT Motor - voltage level 0 - 680 V
HT Motor - Voltage level 690- 11000 V
EHT Motor - voltage level 33000 V and above

what is the difference between LT & HT Motors..

Answer / rajpurohit

fOR THE SAME POWER RATING THE SIZE OF THE LT MOTOR IS MUCH
BIGGER THAN HT MOTOR. But the insulaton level in HT motor
is more strenghter than LT motor. the current is very high
in same rating LT motor so the rating of the protection
device will be higher than HT type motor.
so generally we have taken HT motor in bigger size like
geater than 100 Kw. that can be taken in LT if HT is not
available there & space is availabe.

what is the difference between LT & HT Motors..

Answer / subasis panda

LT RANGE MOTORS – 230 VOLTS, 415 VOLTS
HT RANGE MOTORS – 6600 VOLTS AND 11000 VOLTS.
The insulation level in HT motor
is more strengthener than LT motor. the current is very high
in same rating LT motor so the rating of the protection
device will be higher than HT type motor.

Is This Answer Correct ?    13 Yes 11 No

what is the difference between LT & HT Motors..

Answer / krishna tanuz

LT MOTOR IS HAVING THE RATING <200KW OF VOLTAGE 415V
HT MOTOR IS HAVING THE RATING <=200KW OF VOLTAGE 6600V,3300V,11000V
THE RATING OF THE PROTECTING ELEMENTS FOR THE LT MOTOR IS MORE
WHEN COMPARED TO THE HT MOTOR AS LT MOTOR CARIES MORE CURRENT

Is This Answer Correct ?    11 Yes 11 No

what is the difference between LT & HT Motors..

Answer / amol mohite

Motor operating on 6.6 kv is called HT motor and all motors below 6.6 kv is called as LT motor

We say that if voltage in a power system is increased, for a constant power the current will decrease (by P=VI). isn't this in disagreement with the ohms law(I propotional V;resistant const.).Since the resistance of transmission lines remains constant, shouldn't inc in voltage cause inc in current across the transmission line? I have read many articles across the net but still couldn't this figure this out. :( Guyz plz assist me with dis..:)..
