Well the 2nd answer much specific as considering the
situation. But When you r going to deliver something then to
do PGI Picking is must. As per my knowledge if yor Item
Categ is not relevant for Picking, then it must be Service
Material.
Pls share your view. Corrections r welcome.

Yes we can do delivery without picking.But we have to
deactivate the field "RELEVANT for picking" in the
corresponding delivery item category.Then once we click on
PGI the stck will be reduced.

There are 2 ways to do PGI without picking

1) In Delivery Item Category deactivate the field "Rlevanct
for Picking"

2) When you create Material Master do not maintain
warehouse. So after delivery you will have to do PGI only.
No transfer of order (TOR) i.e. automatic picing is
required.

No2 is basic fundamental configuration concept which
interviewer is trying to know.

Yes we can.

1. It's in returnable packaging topic when the customer
doesn't return the returnable packaging item we raise va01,
VL01N where we do not have any pick up quantity that is
zero and grayed out and we still carry out PGI which, in my
opinion, is a unique conditon in SAP SD whole module.


2. this situation would actually occour in any Consignment
Pick Up scenario (returnable packaging is just one
application of this) where the delivery Item category is
not relevant for picking since stocks get issued from the
Special customer consignment stock.


3. One more scenario could be a Drop Ship ( Third Party )
sales order where you do the PGI with Zero Qty.

Yes you can do pgi with out picking in such secenario there
will be only tor at order level that is activated and no
picking confirmation at delivery . Simply de activate the
picking tab in delivery .

But as per the sap std it is always advisable to have
picking confirmtion at delivery as the business secnario
cahnges from time to time

is to be picked and unless that is clear you can do the
delivery and where is the question of PGI
