lighting arrestor design is withstand only 1.5 or 2 times
of system voltage.if lighting is occur voltage and current
level is more it will bypass that voltage and current to
the earth.

lightening works on the principle of corona discharge.the
sharp edges of the arrestor gets accumulated with charges
once a lightning of high voltage occurs.these charges are
then passed to the ground.

In the UVR(Under Voltage Relay) there is a knob for the hysteresis setting. what is this setting? its threshold is given from 5% to 50%. please help me....
If any HVDC line is going with positive & negative(the negative usually have return path of current with earthing electrode). Now the question is if this HVDC earthed electrode which is using as return path and earthed any nearby 400kv or 220kv AC substation equipments. which will be the impact of this on AC substation & its equipment, how severe may be this and what should be the minimum distance require between HVDC earthed electrode and AC substation equipments?
