Thermocouple Extention Cable:
Thermocouple Element material & Thermocouple Cable
Conductor materials are same.
Thermocouple Compensating Cable:
If the Electrical properties of the Conductor material used
for the Thermocouple Cable is almost similar to that of
Thermocouple element material it is called Compensating
Cable.

When connecting thermocouples to instruments, it is
essential that a cable is used, which has the same emf
output as the thermocouple; otherwise spurious emf is
generated at these junctions. The best solution is to use
the same material as the thermocouple (extension cable). A
cheaper alternative is to use compensating cables, the
alloys of which are different from those of the thermocouple
but have the same output over a limited temperature range.

Extension cable uses the same metals as the thermocouple
and hence has the exact same properties.
Compensating cable has similar properties to the
thermocouple but is made of less expensive materials.
Either can be used but it is more economical to use comp
cable.

compensation cable is used for Connect Thermocouple to
measurement controler as these cable properties is simmllar
to thermocouple cable properties it costly also material is
same of T/C so exetension cable is use which cable
properties is same but material is diffrent it is less
pensive

Compensation cable are used to add the distance of field temperature... Actually it add the ambient temperature with the field temp..i.e in term of MV.

Compensation cable is used to compensate or to maintain the
signal that is transmitted by the transducer towards the
reciever.
Extension cable is used for transmitting signals for long
distances

compensation used for RTD sensor ,becaus the wire have resistane and to compensate the lose of the wire we should make copensation circuit.
but the extension is different ,just to extend the cable and we can use it at any connection

Answer / sabah
compensation is used for RTD sensor ,because RTD OUTPUT IS
resistance this resistance changes when it is transmitted to
long distances, therefore to compensate the lose of the
resistance we use compensation cable.
Extension cable just use for Extension purpose

Compensation cable used for thrmocouple application only.
this cable transmit the signal from sensor to tranmitter
without any signal loss, without signal noise.
Extension cable just use for Extension purpose

Calculate the maximum pressure drop that can be allowed to occur across a control valve, so that we can prevent cavitation / flashing from occurring. Use the following formula: Δ P allow = Km (P1 – PvapourA) where, Δ P allow - the maximum allowable differential pressure for sizing purposes, or terminal pressure drop; Km- the valve recovery coefficient from the manufacturer’s catalogue; P1 - absolute inlet fluid pressure; PvapourA - absolute fluid vapour pressure at the inlet temperature; Use Atmospheric pressure = 101.3 kPa, P1 = 1200 kPa(g), PvapourA = 4 kPa, KM = 0.72
