What will happen if we give transformer a dc not ac

Answer / iamdon
If we supply DC to primary of transformer no emf is induced
in primary side(Accordibg to Faraday laws). It means whole
applied voltage is droped in primary winding resistance
which is very low.So high current will flow through the
primary winding which ultimately burn the primary winding.

If DC is applied to the Power Transformer, this is basically a inductive coil, as freq. is zero is DC, inductive reactance offered is zero i.e. XL=0, then it is as good as short circuiting the DC power supply, if the DC power supply can feed that much current, then that power transformer wdg will burn or due to its resistance the wdg may get heated up.

No flux will generat and primary takes high current and may burn

Answer / jyoti
NO FLUX WILL TRANSFER FROM PRIMARY SIDE TO THE SECONDARY
SIDE.HENCE THE TRANSFORMER DOESN'T PERFORM.

if current is very high it may burn out the windings
but if current is low then primary winding acts as an inductor
