Explain the line "All that glitters is not gold"..

Answer / s.v.s raghusmitha

This saying is very much true.Often, things are very
deceptive. What we think we see may not actually be the real
thing.the outer appearance of objects hides their inner
characteristics.Every shining metal cannot be gold.Often we
are swayed by people's appearances, their surface
attitude, warm words exchanged during brief meetings. But in
reality we do not know the person till we actually get
acquainted him/her.And only then can we judge their
worth..whether the metal is actually gold or just gold-
coated.A fake diamond and a real one mght look the same,
but only on close inspection do we get to know which is
which.

Similarly, all are not saints that go to church. Even if brass bronze or silver is given gold coating, it shines like gold,
But it is not gold. So outward appearance is not the criteria
to decide the quality and purity.
