real meaning of this proverb is that u should not take
others at face value but try to evaluate them. they may not

Yes its true for things may appear to shine but
may have poison inside. This is rightly proved by the tur
dal which we select in the shops by seeing its shine. But,
we are actualy unaware of the fact that many a times it is
coated by 'Lathyrus sativus' (yellow coat) which is a lead
toxin harmful for human life.
