Hi Jitendera Kumar Sinha ..! This is Ravi Sankar From
Hyderabad (ZOOM TECHNOLOGIES) according to my knowlegde what
am saying is The Problem generated by your Operating system
so first of all you have to check the service of DHCP is
running on your system or not to Check this Type on RUN -->
services.msc --> "DHCP Client" is started or stopped and
also check it on --> "msconfg" (wthout quotes) and select
the services tab . if it is stopped then try to start again
if it fails contact your admin ..if your admin is fool try
to solve to issue on your own way by using some of the
persons on internet ..and iam also ready to help you ....if
you can send me the screen shots of your desktop then t is
easy to resolve...OK BYE

Hi ravi
Nice to see you here.actualy the problem is like that from
port number 12 i have conected one user and he was
complaing that he is not able to get dhcp while another
users are geting ip .now if i am giving him some free ip
manulaay it is taking.by this ip when ever i am pinging the
server the reply is comonig but he is not able access sever
shared folder and gives some error
eroor is not related with thet permissions beacue permision
is there for that user
now when i cannect the my lap to spefic port then i am
geting ip by dhcp and able to access the server shared
folder
i have checked the dhcp clint is running by comand
services.msc on that specfic user i have replaesd hhis syem
by another sytem by replaising the hard disk in to the new
one.i palsed the ned hard disk in that spefic machine and
install win2000xp on the machine but it is still not geting
the dhcp
i think some problem with nic card or any other hardware

HI Jitendra Kumar Sinha
vipin This side from Wipro Infotech.
what i am undersanding after going through your posted
question is that.
1. There is one System in Your Network that is not Picking
up the IP address form the DHCP server.
2. If you manually assign the IP address from a Pool of
Free IP address then you are able to Ping The IP address of
a Server but not accessing the Server by IP address or by
Name.
3. If You connect Your Local laptop to the Port then you
are able to access the Network.
The issue is related to only Three services that are
related to network
1. Server Service
2. Computer Browser
3. Workstation service
Check that all these service will be stopped in Your
Desktop and Start will be in your Local laptop.
Just Start these Three services in Desktop and then try to
access the Network by IP address or By Name.
This will solve the issue of that you are not able to
access the network from desktop.
