1.what is use of isolation transformer.
2.Differance between KWH,KVAH,KVARH,KVA.
3.Main use of the CT and PT.
Answer / bilal hamad
1- to isolate supply and load in case of faults and power harmonics (to protect the source) and also to protect the load .
2-KWH: the real power (useful) consumption per hour.
KVAH: the total power consumption per hour.
KVA: the total power (real and imaginary)(vectors sum).
KVARH: the imaginary power consumption per hour.
in summary: the power factor will control the amount of real (active)power and reactive power. all real loads are usually inductive loads or resistive, this will reduce the power factor and then increase the reactive power, the solution is to install capacitor banks to increase the power factor and then reduce the reactive power so increase the active power.
3. CT: is a step down current transformer used for current measurement and protection.
PT or VT: is a step down voltage transformer used for voltage measurement.
