transformer is an electrical machine which is used to increase or decrease the voltage level carasponding decrease or increase in current level.but frequency does not changed in this process.
trasformer can be divided in to two catagaries on basis of working-
1. step up transformer
2. step down transformer

A transformer is a device which is used to either boost up
the voltage or step down the voltage and it is a device in
which power is transferred from one side to another side
with constant frequency and constant flux.

Transformer is electrical static device works on the
principle of mutual flux induction through which it
transfers the voltage(increased / decreased)from primary to
secondary(HV to LV/ vice versa).

A Transformer is is static device by which we can change
the voltage(either low or high)without changging the supply
frequency.
it does so by Faraday`s Electromagnetic induction law.
It can change the voltage as step up & step down.

A Transformer is static devise voltage is transfer to one
circuit to another circuit and there are two windings, that
two windings are induction coupled manually not connected,
Transformers are tw0 typs and step- up and step-down
transformers.......

A transformer is a device that transfers electrical energy
from one circuit to another through inductively coupled
conductors ,the transformer's coils. A varying current in
the first or primary winding creates a varying magnetic
field through the secondary winding. This varying magnetic
field induces a varying electromotive force (EMF) or
"voltage" in the "secondary" winding. This effect is called
mutual induction.

transformer is a electrical machine which convert the
voltage level with corresponding changed in current means
the power will be constant,it works on the principle of
mutual inductance, the rating of transformer is always shows
in KVA.
