dc series motor is used in electric train in india
it is having high starting torque
torque is proportional to square of current in d.c.series
motor.

due to this advantage it is used in electric locomotive

sometimes, eventhough the HV side of the transformer is opened there is a voltage in LV side .How is it possible?
