We operate a 10 Mw facility and we have been experiencing
several trips due to fluctuations on the MVAR? We have
checked all issues related to the AVR and we have found all
OK? Can anyone help us? The grid voltage, internal voltage,
all regular parameters look ok. MVAR fluctuate and there it
goes the unit? What could be happening? Thanks!

Answer / chaitanya
this may happen due to the variation of reactance produced
by the capacitors connected to that line/....isolate one by
one under observation...and this can be sorted out on
timely basis,,,,

I agree with chaitanya this may happen due to the variation
of reactance produced
by the capacitors connected to that line it will be better
to maintain the Power Factor 0.90 only every where and the
next and only cause is that AVR problem may be some loose
connection in power as well as control side because AVR has
to take care of that MVAR.

Answer / naresh
this could be because of the interturn winding losses that
takes place in the lines.this factor may increase the MVAR
rating of the system, which infuence the performance of thea
system.

Generator AVR have got two setting either to fix MVAR or
according to load if u set them to fix MWAR generation
probably it will solve ur problem to a extent also look at
load pattern first.its really helpfull when you have synch
operation with grid.

Please check CT connections, CT Specifications and
saturation of particularly B phase as this CT feed back is
used in AVR during PF control mode while pareller with grid.

Here iam a question with SYNCHRONIZATION PANNEL related issue, as i want to design a SYNC.pannel board iam giving the 2 nos of 1MVA Generators to sync pannel , then what wil be the out put of the sync pannel, whether it wil be one cable coems from the sync panel or two cables.. as iam using two transformers to meet my load demand, so pls clear me whether two cables comes from sync panel to connect to transformers or only one cable
