For tension tower:-
It located between every three or four suspension tower to
pull the conductors which are re-tied in tension tower
insulators.
For suspension tower:-
The conductors just hung-up on it's insulators and not to
re-tied on it (I mean it just pass through a ring at the
end of the insulator).

when routing of tower deviates an angle more than 2 degrees
then tower at point of deviation faces tension due to pull
in conductors and hence known as tension tower where as
tower with angle is less than 2 degrees line deviation is
known as suspension tower

tension tower = (Road crossing, deviation in transmission
line )wr conductor is tied up firmly by means of tension
insulator
suspension tower = to minimize the sag the conductor s just
tied up with suspension insulators

Suspension tower is used where the angle of deviation of the TL route is 0-2 degrees. Here the conductor is simply suspended on the insulators.
where as tension towers (B,C,D type) are used where angle of deviationof the TL route vary from 2-60 degrees.Strain type insulators are usedc in this case.

if u use insulator as a suspension type that is suspension
tower.use as a strain type that is tension tower. in strin
type sag is less than suspension.
